the classies alone and the fact that anet promised some rpg, better rpg in the game. I am so not going to miss out.

I think if the rpg is good, anet will be fighting for number spot with never winter nights when it comes out. if they do something new they will get mmorpg of the year!

Anet just make sure there is enough CE to go around! and don't make it late

ps

anet please give us lots of aera to explore, both air, water and land pretty pretty please

I feel that Nightfall won't be a waste of money like factions at least both classes don't die fast as assasin which is a lame profession
And well i feel that factions is only to show of with elite missions and alliance battle but nothing extra.
But with these two new professions nightfall won't suck aldo i hope there will'be a chapter to deal with the fate of ascalon and the charr

well you guys have to understand one thing.. its called Guild WARS for a reason... because the build battles is probably 100x more enjoyable than anything you can find, farm, or beat in pve... until you've reached that lvl you are really missing out.. don't hate gw cuz its not pve oriented... because its not supposed to be... the pvp is where the real fun is at

If it was Guild Wars, we'd be having 100 man battles with siege engines, mounts, formations, etc etc. Right now its much more like...Guild Arenas.

Anyways, Factions was pretty much a PvP game, with PvE mostly gimped. The two new classes were not that much different in terms of play style or feel from the Prophecy characters. What really disappointed me was that the whole factions concept is one of the biggest gimmicks I've ever seen. I was hoping to have the faction line actually affect the game somewhat, but really, the only thing is does is just make me go to Kaineng to sell/buy all my gear.

2 things.

1 guild wars is in reference to background lore

2 the owner of ANET stated flatly in an interview that GW started as an RPG and the PVP was added as something to do after finishing the game.

REAL ACTUAL WORK!!!?!?!? It's a game, for chrissake. it is a GOOD thing to have many unique items with different models, and big bosses to kill, and cheaper runes which don't take hundreds of hours of boring farming to get ahold of.

Default Too much, too Fast

I love GuildWars but...

Adding 2 new characters allready is a bit too fast I believe. I think it will destroy a lot of fun in the game. Too many things in too short time.

And well, I hope they actualy debug chapter 3 before release cause Factions had too much bugs anyway.
- Major letdown to me was the 5 elite skills that weren't available from the start. And they just said... "they are in the game" and... a week later they update... "Elites now available".
- Quests that were bugged
- And so on... I believe we all know that there were too many bugs.

Nobody can really answer your question as A) Nightfall won't be out for atleast 3 more months B) you never explained just what it was about Ch1 and Ch2 that caused you to become bored.

While I enjoy Guild Wars for what it is, I can flat out and undeniably tell you without hestiation that it doesn't hold a butterfly fart's strength against the flame of a candle to Never Winter Nights when it comes to RPG. Guild Wars is an RPG, but very dummied down and limited in just how much role playing you get to do.

-You play the good guy, no matter what. No choice. You can't even win in an evil way. It's one track.

-There isn't much to the plot. It's more of a cinematic that you participate in, not neccessarily define. There's a critical difference in this and an RPG that unfolds and you didn't say "I didn't see that coming."

-The things you encounter last 2 minutes and you learn nothing about it. An example is the Seer in prophecies. Sure, we all know about Ascalon and the Char, etc, but the nature of the Seer isn't even talked about, theorized, or anything. No one wonders. Why? Because it has pretty much milimeters of depth. That's a sure fire sign that this wasn't meant to really be an RPG of the calliber of the real RPGs which currently define that genre.

There are other things, but they're not really important. And even given the above, Guild Wars is still a fantastic game. I can play it quickly, with friends and family no matter where they are, and have a good time. Play a simple story. Enjoy my role in the "story" and finish it up. I don't have to get all involved. It's a nice break from serious RPG to simple laid back hack & slash with the illusion of RPG -- Nothing wrong with that either!

Cheers!

Evil Avatar News: Guild Wars seems to be a pretty hardcore PvP type game.

JS: Well, I think Guild Wars has excellent PvP, especially in the online role-playing genre, in fact it’s the only game with well-designed well-balanced PvP; but that doesn’t mean the game is a hardcore PvPer's game. Guild Wars started life as a role-playing game, and we continue to support that very strongly. Our goal was always for the PvP aspect to be played after you’ve built up your character and played through the role-playing content,

If ebgames slip up on Nightfall info as to number of missions, quests etc (all being far more then factions) is true then with out a doubt.

Even if it's the same, so I will most likely will.

@MalVeauX
300 new skills, 25 duplicates in Factions and makes perfect sense if you read the dev interviews about how GW shares elements with Magic the Gathering and if you play Magic The Gathering.

I expect to see and have zero issues with some duplicate skills with different name.

And the Dev stated it started as Pve, PvP was added (during development) and BOTH are part of the game and always will be and the strive to keep both sides happy. Aka despite PvE being 1st, that has zero bearing on the future it's a PvP & PvE game.

When my assassin appears next to you, you have eight seconds to live.

Back on topic... heck ya, it'll be well worth it. I still have a lot to do with Factions (thanks to the ABs pulling me away from other things...), and Nightfall looks to be even bigger in the PvE world... plus the promise of a new type of PvP that'll blow peoples socks off.

Oh yeah. Buy that puppy.

That's the difference between the problem in Guildwars and what doens't occur in MTG. The "duplicates" in MTG are true duplicates. Disenchant is disenchant. It's the same thing, no matter the set. You can't have more than 4. Simple.

In guildwars, you can have as many as you want, so long as it's not the same name. Skills that are identical with different names are legal in Guildwars.

It's nothing like MTG in that particular sense, but very similar in others.

If Wizards can make up new "similar" things to replace others and that can be mixed with the others every 6 months (and MORE than guildwars) then I expect the boys at A.net to be able to do the same thing.

At least so long as they're not carbon copies.

Im pretty sure PvP came around on day 4 or 5 LOL.

I take back saying Lying.... for more than one reason....

However... I now replace that title with "EXAGGERATOR"
i did not alter or in anyway change what Jeff Strange said.

here is what i said

Currently if A-net does not fix the problems that were introduced by this newest patch/fix the ui i will not be playing nightfall.

One of the major reasons i got Guildwars 1 was because A-net was a new company. They needed to make a good game/good service if they wanted their company rep. to go up, unlike other companies such as Blizzard that can make lots of mistakes and still keep their godly omfg WARCRAFT 3 rep. Now also A-net is going down the path of big business and slacking off a little. I am going to wait 1 or 2 months after Nightfall comes out before i even get it...and thats only if we dont have a whole bunch of complaints. I think A-net has officially lost my business. Guildwars has just gotten eh -_-.

Give them time and read Anets post, Also too stop playing a game over a few minor problems is a prety lame reason not to buy the next chapter.

The new UI is so much better than what was ever in the game.
